| Akron Zoo - Grizzly Ridge Akron, Ohio, July 2013 Contractor: Hammond Construction Inc. Scope: Supply, Installation and Sealing of 19 Glass Viewing and 9 Acrylic Viewing Panels. Panels: Acrylic Fabricated by Reynolds Polymer Technology – Glass by Fabricated Specialty Manufacturer. Facts: After the successful completion of the Exhibit Renovations in 2012, with 27 Sentry Glass panels, Hammerhead was commissioned to once again be an integral part of the construction team for the new Grizzly Ridge project. North American Grizzly Bears, and many other species never before seen at the Akron Zoo, will be showcased in their new state of the art exhibits including an Otter Slide Tube. Kids will be able to enter and slide through the Otter Habitat in a unique acrylic tube that will be sure to entertain them as well as the otters. With 19 new Sentry Glass panels for Wolfs, Coyotes, Eagles and Bears and 9 new acrylic panels for Otters and Grizzly Bears, this will be one of most enriching experiences at the zoo. |
